Efter att ha läst och förundrats över författarens förra bok, Pärlan som sprängde sitt skal, så hade jag väldigt höga förväntningar även på denna bok. Och mina förväntningar infriades! I denna bok får vi följa Fereba och hennes uppväxt i ett alltmer talibanstyrt och kvinnoförtryckande Afghanistan, och senare även hennes och barnens farliga flykt genom Europa och sökandet efter trygghet och tillhörighet. Fantastiskt välformulerade och vackra beskrivningar av Afghanistan, blandat med realistiska och känslofyllda beskrivningar av tiden på flykt. Läs den!
