Intressant men stundvis irriterande. Bra berättat och en inlevelsförmåga utöver det vanliga. Men all förnumstighet blir lite övermäktig. Dock mycket fina skildringar av naturen och omständigheterna kring Walden.

Jag ville verkligen gilla denna bok mer än jag förmådde. Som filosofi är det givande men tyvärr kan jag inte riktigt stå ut med Thoreaus självgoda och föreläsande stil.

Lite väl mycket "rödvinsfilosofi" för min smak för att jag verkligen ska ta Thoreaus budskap på allvar. Men kanske är det inte som ett filosofiskt traktat boken skall ses? Kanske snarare som en samling tänkvärda citat och beskrivningar? "Walden" har sina stunder - men de överskuggas alltför ofta av de än mer flerfaldiga tillfällen då boken blir pratig och alltför poetisk.
