Ben Cooper är som en gammal, kär vän. Och man gillar att vara i hans sällskap. Men den här gången är det lite väl många geografiska namn, broar, vägar stigar och kanaler att hålla reda på. Lägg därtill en ganska långsam och snårig historia så blir man lätt rätt förvirrad. Men allt sammantaget är klart läsvärt, särskilt om man följt Ben Cooper i Peak District förut.

Femtonde boken i serien och även om Cooper och Fry inte direkt jobbar sida vid sida längre så håller serien både stilen och standarden. Man vet vad man får. En bra och spännande deckare på den engelska landsbygden. Med grannar, fiender vänner och dåtid som hinner ikapp.
