A hugely commercial, fabulously addictive fantastical romp - from an author with top-notch digital self-publishing pedigree and legions of fans awaiting publication. After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting...

Re-read 2018: Just noticed that I didn’t add a review on here for my re-read...but I obviously FREAKING LOVED IT!

When I started reading “Throne of Glass” I was quite positive that I would remember at least 99% of the things that happened in the book. I read the series for the first time a couple of years ago and has been kind of obsessed with it since. So I thought I remembered everything.

I was wrong. 😂 First things first I thought that stuff that happens in "Crown of Midnight" actually would happen in "Throne of Glass". Whoopsie? Not that that is a bad thing, but it was quite annoying for the die-hard fan of TOG to realize that she didn't remember the books as well as she thought.

Anyway, on to the review.

Just like the first time I absolutely loved Celaena, Dorian, Nehemiah and Nox. I think I liked Chaol better the first time than I did the second, but that is probably because I've read the series and already know...stuff...about him that isn't that good.

The story itself is mind blowing. I love the world Sarah J. Maas has created and all of her characters feel so real. I find it fascinating to follow Celaena's journey throughout the story, she really does develop and both becomes a better person and a greater heroine.

The "Throne of Glass" series is definitely worth your time. For the best reading experience (according to me) I think you should start with "The Assasin's Blade".

⭐️ “Throne of Glass” by @therealsjmaas is of course a 5/5, but I think you'd already figured that out.

I feel like I have to warn you in advance. You might fall in love with charming characters (like Dorian) and the series might break your heart over and over again.
