Detective Lindsay Boxer and her friend Yuki Castellano are out shoppin g with Yuki's mother Keiko when Keiko drops in the middle of the busy street. It looks like she's had a stroke and Yuki starts to panic. She is rushed to the San Francisco Medical Center and admitted to the ICU . Over drinks that evening at Susie's, with her friends in the Women's Murder Club, Lindsay learns of a huge malpractice suit against the Sa n Francisco Medical Center. In the last few years, dozens of patients who were admitted to the emergency room seemed to recover and then die d suspicious deaths. Is Yuki's mother safe?
