Början av boken är gåshudsbra. Man anar en storslagen coming of age-historia á la King eller Gaiman, men storyn går vilse i långrandigt språk och förvirrat skildrat händelseförlopp. Skulle gärna se en rejäl bearbetning och uppstramning av texten för själva stommen är det inget fel på.
