Istanbul, 1838. Lefèvre, a French archaeologist, arrives in the city determined to uncover a lost Byzantine treasure, and immediately rumours start circulating about what his true intentions might be. Yashim the Eunuch is hired to investigate him by a powerful woman with her own hidden agenda, but then Lefèvre's mutilated body is discovered, and it turns out that there is only one suspect: Yashim himself.
