It is 1807 and Sharpe has joined the newly formed Greenjackets - but his future in the army seems hopeless. He is rescued from disgrace by General Sir David Baird, who needs a "disposable" man for a mission in Copenhagen. But unless Sharpe can complete the mission, the army will meet disaster.
