It is dedicated to every aspect of the human form and its representation in art, performance, dance and science, and explores topics such as body movement and film, choreography, violation of taboos, aesthetics and violence in both the sciences and the arts. It also sheds light on cults and mnemonic myths, as well as on the mechanical and manneristic body. Designed by Bruce Mau, who also contributes a picture essay, this book explores questions of the body's representation at the close of the 20th cenutry.
