Quo vadis ("vart gr du?") r en suvernt bra historisk roman som verkligen lever upp till sin klassikerstatus.
Sienkiewicz var vl vrd sitt nobelpris. Jag lste Brombergs utgva frn 1986, varning fr utgvan i Bra Klassiker-serien som r frkortad. Det hr inte en bok som mr bra av detta. I brjan knns det som det blir mnga namn att hlla reda p, men i sjlva verket r inte persongalleriet s stort, inte mycket strre n i en genomsnittlig roman.
Boken handlar om Rom under Kejsar Neros tid, de frsta kristna spelar en viktig roll i handlingen. Marcus Vinicius och Petronius r fascinerande personligheter, skildringen av Lygia kanske lite ytligare. Spnnande och vlskriven.
