I likhet med Psycho är Planet of the Apes (La planète des singes i original) en klassiker som kanske inte blir läst så mycket idag, och som jag skulle tro att få faktiskt vet existerar. I båda fallen är filmversionen avsevärt mycket bättre än boken, men Planet of the Apes är en en hejdlös sidvändare och väldigt svår att lägga ifrån sig. Man kan uppfatta den som lite fånig här och var, men om man ser den som lika delar science fiction och Voltaire-inspirerad samhällssatir klarnar tanken bakom det hela. Rekommenderas varmt.
