En bok vars betydelse är svårskattad. I 'Order of Things' följer Foucault upp de ansatser som framläggs i 'Vetandets arkeologi' - Kategorier som epistem igenkänns. Växlar mellan det minutiösa och oerhört generella. För den som inte i detalj studerat författare som Ricardo eller Nietzsche (för att bara nämna ett par av otaliga som åberopas) är det svårt att avgöra hur väl Foucault representeras och tolkar dessa i sina beskrivningar av de fundamentala skiften i västerländska epistemen - förutsättningarna eller positiviteten och på samma gång begränsningarna för all kunskapsproduktion.
Bör läsas för den som vill bekanta sig med en föregångare inom diskursanalys - i synnerhet beträffande densammes "arkeologiska" period.
