Tredje (eller andra) Lord John-boken (första; andra) - godisböcker allihop. Anglofili och välresearchad historisk skildring: check (engelsk överklass, 1750-tal). Helt lovable huvudperson: check (Lord John Grey, officer och hedersman). Clandestine love affairs och star-crossed love med en rejäl skopa yaoi: check (extra star-crossed pga att homosexualitet på 1750-talet var kriminellt med option på hängning).
