Munros format är novellen. Här i romanformen tycker jag inte det stämmer lika bra. Det blir inte samma spänst och koncentration. Sen en annan aspekt och det är svårigheten att helt lämna den roman man just läst, helst om den varit stark, bra och gjort intryck. I mitt fall fick läsningen av Munros roman avlösa Darrieussecqs underbara Härligt är att leva här. I jämförelse (skall man göra det?) blev Kvinnors liv lite tungfotad och inte den läsupplevelse jag hoppats på.

Alice Munro befäster sig åter som en av de stora inom underhållningslitteratur som berör. Med små enkla medel skapar hon här en mästerlig roman som det är svårt att lägga ifrån sig. Stark, rörande och superb! Läs den!
