Lennart Nilsson is Sweden's most well known photographer and is recognised as one of the ten most important photographers in history. His scientific pictures are world-renowned and have changed the way we see Man. Few people, however, are familiar with his superb photo-essays from the early 1940s to the present. This book traces Nilsson´s more than sixty years as a professional photographer. Indefatigably and with sharp insight, his camera tells stories of polar bear hunters, Salvation Army soldiers and television celebrities. Kings and prime ministers mingle with ants and water fleas. Included are group shots that have never been duplicated. And no book on Lennart Nilsson would be complete without his unique pictures from inside the body.
