Författarens svagheter håller i sig, och blir faktiskt värre, från förra boken. Istället för en sammanhängande story, får vi små utdrag ur de tre unga männens liv, som knappt för storyn framåt.
Berättelsen saknar också tydligt mål, man vet inte vad våra tre unga pojkar vill uppnå, framför alt inte Cal, huvudpersonen. Han lever en tillvaro som visserligen kan vara trolig för en flykting, men inte mycket att skriva en bok om. Nej, den första boken borde ha blivit den sista. hoppas bara han motbevisar mig i ev. uppföljare, jag gillar verkligen hur han skriver. Bara inte vad han skriver.
