Why Irony? Because times are long bygone when vague theoretical references to pre-WWll Marxism sufficed to lend a ?critical? halo to any bleak reflection on management and organization! Because the do-gooder mask of economic idealism today mostly hides illuminated fanatics´ quest for political power! Because violence, be it informal terror or formalized warfare, remains the ultimate defence of crumbling fortresses of platonic idealism! Because faith in God now makes corporate campaigns and crusades politically correct! Idealism fails to provide an intellectual overview. The Ivory Towers of Ideals have exploded. Now only Ironical reason remains. In this critical situation Irony offers a last resort of hope.
