Jag har lyssnat på författarens egna inläsning av denna bok, något jag starkt rekommenderar då Hitchens egna subtila "dramatisering" gör många avsnitt extra njutbara. Boken innehåller mycket som är kul och intressant men - såsom fallet kanske är i många själbiografier - avsnitt som är mindre så. Hursomhelst, Hitchens skarpa intellekt, hederlighet, självkritiska hållning och stora humor gör boken läsvärd. Hans stora kärlek till litteratur och poesi inspirerar också till läsning av nya författare, inte minst George Orwell, Martin Amis, Salman Rushdie, etc.
