On the same day that Roy Cady is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he senses that his boss, a dangerous loan-sharking bar-owner, wants him dead. Jag tvekade länge innan jag bestämde mig för att jag ville läsa den här boken. Det var först när den av Svenska Deckarakademin fick priset som bästa översatta kriminalroman som vågen vägde över. Och att författaren ligger bakom TV-serien True Detective, som jag inte sett. Än. Alla verkar ju tokälska den i alla fall. Duktigt mörk noir med alla genrens kännetecken. - på gott och på ont. Mörkret känns igen från båda säsongerna av True Detective, men känns ibland påklistrat, ungefär som i andra säsongen av ovan nämnda serie.
