
Olga Sedakova's book of philosophical and religious essays introduces a highly original and extremely controversial thinker to the Western reader. The central place in Sedakova's philosophical thought belongs to the investigation of the notion of existential freedom and liberating power of arts (poetry in particular), which Sedakova finds in adherence to Russian and European classical cultural traditions, with Christianity being an integral part of it.
