Fleet of Worlds är intressant på grund av dess koppling till Ringworld, i det att den företräder Ringworld och ger lite mer information om Pierson's Puppeteers varelserna och deras världar. Den utforskar också grundligt hur feghet som dygd kan leda till att oetiska handlingar såsom att förslava en hel koloni med människor helt plötsligt blir försvarbart ur ett egoistiskt perspektiv. Boken skulle ha vunnit på att koncentrera sig på Puppeteer-samhället och inte inkludera hur jordens speciella polisstyrka ARM jagade varelserna. En del som boken behandlar är också information som redan finns i andra verk, så som Beowulfnovellerna.
