It is December 1648. The English Civil Wars have ended with victory for the Roundheads and with Parliament purged of Royal supporters. The Doctor warns his companion to be careful. England has been through one of the biggest upheavals in history, and the wars have bitterly divided family and friends. With loyalties divided, strangers are looked upon with suspicion, and the TARDIS crew soon finds itself in danger.
