Evelyn Waugh's hilarious debut novel, with an introduction by Barbara Cooke Sent down from Oxford in outrageous circumstances, Paul Pennyfeather is oddly unsurprised to find himself qualifying for the position of schoolmaster at Llanabba Castle.
