Jovisst, den här var bra att ha på tunnelbanan e d. Roligt skriven på ett gammaldags engelskt omständligt sätt. En historisk forskare som unnar sig att ha lite kul med sitt vetande. Efterhand blir det lite för många håriga mörka monster som man inte får veta vad det var för några. Här finns dock komiska höjdare som att den svenske stormaktsgreven Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie framställs som zombie, eller att figurer i en gammal tavla rör på sig och därmed återberättar en ryslig händelse från längesen. Den här författaren hade jag ingen aning om förrän jag hittade boken i en secondhandbutik, men i England är han tydligen välkänd. Jag tror att både J K Rowling och Dan Brown har läst honom.
