För lång för min smak även om den innehåller intressanta bitar om hur ens barndom kan påverka en hela livet och om svårigheten att hitta sin egen väg och eget språk som målare. Atwoods dystopiska böcker faller mig mer i smaken.

Jag tyckte väldigt mycket om boken. Det var intressant att läsa om Elaines och även hennes kompisars familjeliv i Toronto.
Det är många tankar som väcks: Hur beräknande och onda kan barn vara?Varför ingriper inte de vuxna?Alldeles uppenbart är att de grymheter Elaine utsattes för har följt henne hela vägen.

Långsamt lunkar berättelsen fram. Jag har inte tålamod nog. Atwood imponerar bitvis, men tempot saknas. Det blir helt enkelt långtråkigt.
