Enligt bibliotekarien hade denna inte "rört på sig sen 2012" och med översättning från 1987 och tidstypiskt omslag blev jag inte sjukt exalterad - men hade hört så många bra saker om "tidens mittpunkt" som den heter på svenska att jag ändå gav mig in i handlingen med stor entusiasm. Och blev besviken. Det är nåt med språket, något konstigt. Tror att översättaren försökt få till london-slang från krigstiden fast på svenska - kombinerat med framtidsprat. Weird. Men idén om tiden som icke-linjär och olika eror som stabila och icke-stabila kändes rolig. Och gillar huvudpersonen. Kändes som att JK Rowling inspirerats mycket av upplägget. Tänk horcruxes. Och tåg spelar en inte helt oviktig roll. Liksom magisk mat.
